Static Test, 6-part HD video installation, 2016-2017, various dimensions, one full cycle has a 16 minute running time.
Materials: limestone bricks, wooden plinths, foam board, white paper, Ikea table tops, black charcoal powder, and Plexiglas.
Static Test is an immersive video installation of six video works combining my footage with appropriated material. Footage includes archival scientific film footage of cells, neuron networks and microbes, close-ups of film grain from still photographs, landscapes shot by the U.S. Army using night-vision technology in the Persian Gulf and South/Central Asia, nocturnal seascapes recorded in Ajami, Tel Aviv-Jaffa, and pictures from family albums.
